KenKenReviews

A film and TV review site, rebuilt around its archive

What was needed

A film and TV review brand running since 2020 that had outgrown the site underneath it. Close to six hundred reviews, thirteen people writing, and a readership that had to come across intact.

What we built

The archive came first

Every review moved across with its categories and bylines intact. Six years of writing is the asset here, so the rebuild was designed around not losing any of it.

A structure that scales

Five top-level sections and forty-four categories, so someone after horror television and someone after one particular film both land somewhere useful.

Thirteen writers, one publication

Contributors publish under their own bylines with their own profiles, so it reads as a publication rather than a blog with guests.

A business model that does not ruin the reading

Advertising and newsletter signup are part of the layout rather than dropped on top of it.

The stack

WordPress and Elementor, with Google Site Kit handling advertising and MailerLite for the newsletter.
